By the time Sawinah Roctus launched The Art of Pageantry in 2024, she had already seen the same pattern repeat across multiple pageant systems. Contestants arrived prepared for stage presentation and competition logistics, but often without the tools to explain their advocacy, sustain their platform, or transition into leadership roles once pageant week ended.

That pattern became more visible to Roctus as she moved from contestant to host, coach, and executive. While working with competitors at different levels, she began identifying where preparation consistently stopped and where education was missing. The Art of Pageantry was developed to fill that space, operating as a structured coaching platform focused on communication, advocacy development, and long-term representation rather than short-term results.

Defining Advocacy Within Pageantry

Roctus distinguishes pageantry from modeling by focusing on the role of a titleholder as a public-facing representative. She emphasizes that while presentation matters, pageantry requires communication skills, credibility, and sustained advocacy work.

She does not require contestants to have lived experience with their cause, but she does require education, consistent involvement, and accountability.

Advocacy only works when it is personal, intentional, and genuine.

This definition informs how The Art of Pageantry structures its coaching programs.

Education-Based Coaching Structure

Through The Art of Pageantry, Roctus provides coaching in interview preparation, platform alignment, and message clarity. Contestants are guided through research, advocacy planning, and communication strategy.

She works with contestants at various stages, from first-time competitors to international-level participants. Roctus currently serves as an international Q&A coach with Miss Exclusive, supporting contestants preparing for international titles.

Her coaching emphasizes preparation over performance and sustainability over short-term results.

Industry Collaboration and Application

In addition to serving as an international Q&A coach with Miss Exclusive, Roctus served as CEO of Miss Teen Nederland last year, further expanding her executive leadership within the industry. That chapter marked a significant milestone in her professional evolution, with a new adventure already on the horizon.

She is also actively hosting for Manhunt Netherlands and Be Pretty Pageantry, bringing her experience in communication and stage presence to live productions. In addition, she works in hosting and production roles with pageants she produces or supports, including partnerships with Ethereal Royalty.

These roles allow her to apply her coaching philosophy across different systems and formats, reinforcing consistency, credibility, and leadership within modern pageantry.
